For transactions, hotel last minute, they are always on the basis http://www.ratestogo.com. This is the website of the sister http://www.hotelclub.com (for non-last-minute) bookings. They have a voluntary membership if you want to participate, give discounts and benefits every time you use the site.
Once again, I think it depends will also depend on where you are. There are some places that can not really help for online booking for a traditional travel agent to.
As for the car, but unfortunately I have no recommendations, but I think and Go Club Hotel has a few partners on its website. Just was not addressed.
